LG announced the first 3D phone LG Optimus 3D and after that HTC also come up with their first 3D phone HTC EVO 3D. EVO 3D is the successor of HTC EVO phone. HTC EVO 3D & LG Optimus 3D comes up with the 3D factor. Let’s see who will win the race?
Display Size:
HTC EVO 3D has a 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen at a resolution of 540*960 pixel. It features multi-touch input, accelerometer, gyroscope and the HTC Sense User Interface. On the other hand, LG Optimus 3D also has a 4.3-inch capacitive LCD touchscreen with a resolution of around 480*800 pixels. There is no multi-touch on the Optimus 3D but it does have the accelerometer and gryoscope sensor. The HTC comes at 128.8*68*11.9 mm and weighting 168 gram and EVO at 126*65*121.mm and 170 gram.
Hardware:
Both phones are Android based Smartphone, the EVO 3D uses the latest android operating system 2.3 Gingerbread while the Optimus 3D comes with Froyo 2.2 operating system. The Optimus 3D has a 1 GHz dual-core ARM Cortex A9 processor and it embedded Power VR SGX540 graphic processing unit (GPU). Meanwhile, HTC has opted for a 1.2 GHz QUALCOMM MSM8660 dual-core processor on the Snapdragon chipset with a Aderano 220 GPU. Next on to the storage, LG Optimus 3D offers 8GB internal memory which can be extended with the help of microSD card. Although, EVO 3D memory can also be expanded via memory card slot but it only embedded 1 GB on-board memory.
Media:
Both devices have 5 MP 3D rear camera. The 3D photos from both of the cameras had decent picture quality but HTC camera took better pictures in low light in 2D. Though the LG Optimus 3D had 0.3 Mp front facing camera while HTC EVO 3D had 1.3 Mp front-facing camera. The LG captures 720p in 3D while you can take 2D video at 1080p. However, HTC only offers 720p and no full HD video recording.
Connectivity:
Both included the standard connectivity options included 3G, WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth (3.0) that you had expected from Smartphone. Both phones also included HDMI port to view your videos, data at HD TV and it also included DLNA as well for streaming content to compatible device. On to the battery front, EVO 3D has 1730 mAh battery which can give you 450 minutes of talktime and up to 355 hours of standby time. However, HTC 3D has 1500 mAh battery which makes HTC slightly more powerful battery pack than LG.
Final Verdict:
When deciding which phone will be best for you, it really depends which aspects you considered the most important. Since the HTC EVO 3D and Optimus 3D are almost identical in all aspects but HTC EVO 3D was slightly better than LG Optimus 3D.
