LG OPTIMUS PAD V/S SAMSUNG GALAXY PAD

Here comes the two new tablet PC one is LG Optimus Pad and the other one is Samsung Galaxy Tab. The Samsung Galaxy Tab is the major release tablet after the Apple iPad and LG Optimus Tab was recently announced tablet in early 2011 from LG. I am comparing both of these tablets and help you find out the best tablet for yourself.

DISPLAY SIZE:
The Optimus Tab has 8.9-inches TFT capacitive touchscreen while Galxay Tab has 7.0-inches TFT capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 1024*600 pixels and supports 16 M colors. LG Optimus display has 15:9 aspect ratio with 1280*768 WVGA resolution that allows user to get access to apps in widescreen format. It might have a slightly lower resolution in comparison to the tab. This one is down to personal preferences and we prefer something a little more pocketable.

HARDWARE:
Samsung Galaxy Tab runs on the Android 2.2 Froyo operating system and powered by Cortex A8 1Ghz processor with 512 MB RAM. On the other hand, LG Optimus runs on the latest Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and powered by 1 GHZ NVDIA TERA 2 dual-core processor. Galaxy offers 16 GB internal memory while Optimus has 32 GB internal memory which can be expanded via microSD card or microSDHC. On to the connectivity front, both tablet offers connectivity options includes GPRS, EDGE, WiFi, Bluetooth with A2DP and USB port. Next on to the battery, Optimus has 6400 mAh battery while Galaxy offers 1500 standby time.

CAMERA:
Samsung Galaxy Tab embedded 3.2 megapixel rear-facing camera with 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera. On the other hand, Optimus has 5 MP rear-facing camera and 3 MP front-facing camera and have the ability to record 3D videos. The LG Optimus 3D has a two different camera modes. The first uses the standard Android camera apps to record video and capture still images. The second uses LG own 3Dcarmcoder apps to record videos in 3D. Obviously dual camera with the ability to record videos at 3D will always win the war.

CONCLUSION:
Samsung Galaxy Tab is not an impressive tablet as Samsung claimed it can be used as a phone but its too big to use as a primary mobile phone. However, LG has brought completely new to the tablet with 3D multimedia and a device with perfect size to carry around. LG Optimus Tab is the clear winner.
