MOTOROLA FIRE: QWERTY KEYPAD SMARTPHONE

Motorola has come up with their new handset i.e. Motorola Fire. It is the successor of Motorola Spice as it comes up with an added features and specifications that were not available in their predecessor. Motorola Fire is an Android based handset and features a capacitive touchscreen with QWERTY keypad. Let’s go through the specifications:
HARDWARE:
Motorola Fire runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and powered by 600 MHz ARM 11 processor with an accelerated Aderno 200 graphic processing unit. It embedded QUALCOMM MSM7227-1 chipset with 256 MB RAM and 512 MB ROM. It features a 2.8-inches TFT capacitive touchscreen with a density of 240*320 pixels. Motorola Fire offers 256 K colors with QWERTY keyboard and includes various sensor features such as accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate, proximity sensor for auto turn-off and MotoSwitch UI for amazing user interface experience. Now coming on to the camera, it equips 3.15 megapixel camera with the resolution of around 2048*1536 pixels and able to record videos at 480 p at the rate of 24 fps. The physical dimension of the phone is 116.5*58*13.5 mm and weighs around 110 g.

SOFTWARE:
On the connectivity side, you will get WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP and EDR, EDGE, A-GPS and GPRS. It will offer you HSUPA at the speed of 384 kbps and HSDPA at the speed of 7.2 Mbps. Motorola Fire embedded internet browser and comes with various social networking apps like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. It also supports Gmail, Google Talk, Google Maps and Google Search which allow you to see where your friends are as well as allowing you to share your own location. Now coming on to the battery, it is equipped with 1420 mAh Li-ion standard battery which can give you 720 hours standby time and 9.16 hours talktime in 2G or 8 hours talktime in 3G.
Motorola Fire does not offer you powerful hardware and features that other smartphones has, it lacks out in the hardware and software specification. It is available in the market in the second quarter of this year and no information regarding the price is available. In my opinion, it is not the best buy for your pocket.
