PLAYBOOK-THE MOST AWAITED TABLET PC

Blackberry has finally unveiled their much awaited tablet PC, Playbook.  BlackBerry makers RIM tries to give a strong competition to the other available Tablet PC. But does it give the best competition to the other Tablet PC? The tablet has got some excellent features with the new advanced technology. Let’s discuss their features:

HARDWARE:-
The BlackBerry Playbook runs on the newly operating system QNX and powered by 1GHz dual core processor. It comes with a 5 MP rear camera for video recording and a 3 MP front camera for video calling. It’s equipped with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 1080 HD video playback with an HDMI-out port, all wrapped up in super sleek thin package. On storage front, it comes in three variants 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB. The battery life is good as it last only for 5 hours a day.

DESIGN:-
The Blackberry Playbook is a 7-inch tablet features a smaller screen size for those not interested in larger size tablet and this makes the Playbook more portable. The Playbook is an almost pocketable tablet. The display is beautiful as it offers 1024*600 resolution.

INTERFACE:-
The Playbook styling is modest, along the bottom bezel, is touch sensitive too and it is used to control the elements of the interface. As the bezel interacts with the OS and the application, it is very intuitive and effortless.  To switch from an application to the next while using an application in full screen press on the bezel and swipe to directly access the next/previous application.

CONNCECTIVITY:-
On the connectivity front you get Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 as you need that to connect to the phone and the ability to connect a HDMI cable to the device to mirror the content on the HD TV. The BlackBerry browser is quick, supports Flash for better web experience.

CONCLUSION:-
The overall quality is good but as a standalone tablet, it doesn’t come up with the dedicated email, contacts or calendar, instead relying on feature BlackBerry Bridge to do that for you. The only way you are currently able to access your email on the go is by connecting your Playbook via the BlackBerry. Disconnected the bridge and all the data on the Playbook vanishes. If you have not got BlackBerry then you’re left with the device that’s bit lacking on its own.
